The Gretchen Otero Photography Process
Our process eliminates all the guesswork and leaves you with lifelong tangible memories of your most loved pets.
Step 1: The Portrait Session
The fee for photography is $300 for a location session and includes everything to make your session a success.
A Pre-Session Consultation will help us choose the best location for your session and ensure your outfits will compliment your goals. We'll also give you all the tips and tricks for making your session run as smoothly as possible.
When needed an assistant will come with us to help us wrangle pups, carry lights, bags and give an extra hand as needed.
Your sitting fee could be higher if you have a lot of people or pets in your portrait or would like to choose multiple locations or a place outside of San Diego. We'll discuss that during our initial chat so there will never be any surprises!
Printed artwork and digital images are available for purchase during your Portrait Reveal Celebration but are not included in the price of your session.
Studio sessions are available on a case-by-case basis and at select times of the year.
Step 2: Fall In Love with Your Portraits
What you invest is up to you. Most of our clients are seeking printed portraits and wall art for their home. Often times clients exceed their original budget, but they are always thrilled with their purchase.
Your Portrait Reveal Celebration will be scheduled for a date after your session. This is your single opportunity to view your artwork and choose how to display it in your home. We do this over Zoom and it's a lot of fun!
We'll utilize our state of the art software to view your favorite photographs virtually on your own walls and together we'll decide how to best display your portraits in your home and discuss the investment options for those collections.
Your total investment will be based on the offerings you love and choose. We tell clients the cost of their artwork usually parallels with what they spent on their living room furniture.
There is no minimum investment requirement and you only purchase the photographs you absolutely love. We have a la carte offerings starting under $200 and our packages which include wall art, table top prints and digital files start just over $900.
As a kind reminder, printed artwork and digital files are not included in your initial fee for photography but specific quantities are included in our packages.
Step 3: Display Your Artwork and Love it Forever
We have a professional team of installers we can send to your home to help install your artwork for you.
Your artwork will arrive to your home 3-12 weeks after your Portrait Reveal Celebration, depending on the artwork medium you select for your photography.

We offer three distinct finishes of wall art.
For the most discerning client we offer Guild Canvases. These are luxury line of museum quality handmade canvases. These are the finest canvases available on the market and sold only by qualifying professional photographers.
For the modern client we offer Metal Art Prints.
And for the traditional client we offer Photographic Art Prints.
You'll be able to see, touch and feel our Guild Canvas and Metal Art Print at your session so you can decide what is best for you.
Heirloom Albums
Take home all of your favorite photographs in an heirloom album.
With 70+ custom cover options, archival pages, and a lifetime guarantee these albums are the finest available on the market.
Technology will change, but you'll always be able pick up that custom made album and see your photographs from today.
These handmade albums are crafted to be loved for more than a lifetime.
Table Top Prints
Traditional 8x10's, 5x7's and 4x6's you know and love.
Perfect for displaying on bookshelves, table tops, and gifting to friends and family.
When you prints are displayed in your home, they will give you joy every time glance in their direction!
Each of our packages includes table top prints. You are welcome to keep them for yourself and they also make wonderful gifts.
Archival Digital Images
We know you want to share your photographs on social media so we gift you a digital photograph for every $100 spent on printed artwork.
Most of our clients receive all the digital files they want through our gifting program.
We do like to be clear that your digital photographs are not included in your session fee but can be added to any artwork purchase.

Your portrait session includes a Portrait Reveal Celebration. Most clients tell us this is their favorite part of the creative process. This is the time you will see the artwork created during your session and decide how to display it in your home. We will digitally show you how your favorite images will look on your own walls and we will create custom wall art specifically for your home.
